West Ham United have confirmed the return of former player Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who has signed a seven-year contract with the club. The 26-year-old right-back rejoins the London side from Manchester United in a deal worth £15 million, with potential add-ons of £3 million.
Wan-Bissaka, who began his professional career at Crystal Palace, expressed his enthusiasm about returning to his hometown. “It was a no-brainer for me to join West Ham – I’m excited and happy to be here,” he said. “It’s an amazing feeling to be back in London, and I’m excited for what’s coming.”
The defender’s arrival marks the eighth signing under new head coach Julen Lopetegui, as West Ham continues to bolster its squad. Technical director Tim Steidten praised Wan-Bissaka’s qualities, stating, “He’s exactly the type of player we’re looking to attract to this club in the prime years of his career. He’s an incredibly talented defender who we rate very highly – superb in one-on-one situations.”
Wan-Bissaka’s return is expected to strengthen West Ham’s defense as they prepare for the upcoming season.
