We could have won trophies if they but hadn’t left Modric x Berbatov

If only they hadn’t left, Modrić and Berbatov could have led Tottenham into a golden era. At their peak, they were artistry and intelligence blended with ruthless execution—Modrić pulling the strings in midfield with unmatched vision, and Berbatov up front, turning every touch into poetry. Spurs had the foundations of a truly world-class side, but as always, timing and ambition didn’t quite align.

Modrić, destined for greatness, eventually found his place among the world’s best at Real Madrid, becoming a Ballon d’Or winner and Champions League legend. Berbatov, equally elegant, moved to Manchester United and collected titles Spurs could only dream of. Imagine those two, backed by a growing squad, staying just a bit longer—teaching, inspiring, elevating. Tottenham could’ve built something sustainable around their calm dominance.

Instead, we were left wondering what could have been. The club grew, yes, but too late for that duo. In a parallel universe, maybe Modrić is lifting silverware in a white shirt that says Tottenham, and Berbatov is weaving through defenders at Wembley, not Old Trafford. They were more than just talent—they were the dream that slipped away too soon.

Who do you think could’ve completed that trio?
