As of April 6, 2025, there have been no recent reports of two Collingwood Football Club players being involved in a car accident resulting in one fatality and another player injured. The most recent incident involving a Collingwood player occurred in March 2025, when defender Brayden Maynard was involved in a two-car accident in Brighton. Fortunately, neither Maynard nor the occupants of the other vehicle were injured, and Maynard was able to continue playing in subsequent matches.

Historically, the club experienced a tragedy in 1991 when player Darren Millane died in a car accident. Millane, aged 26, was a key figure in Collingwood’s 1990 premiership team.

Additionally, in June 2024, former Collingwood player Shannon John Cox was charged over a fatal crash in Western Australia’s Wheatbelt. Cox, who played for Collingwood between 2007 and 2009, was allegedly involved in a collision that resulted in the deaths of two elderly women.

It’s important to note that these incidents are separate and occurred at different times. As of now, there is no information confirming a recent accident involving two current Collingwood players with the described outcomes.
