The Tennessee Lady Volunteers basketball program has secured a significant commitment from five-star wing Deniya Prawl, who chose Tennessee over notable programs like Notre Dame and Baylor. Prawl, a 6-foot-1 standout from IMG Academy, is ranked No. 14 in the 2025 class. Her decision marks the first time since 2017 that Tennessee has landed a high school recruiting class featuring two top-15 players.

Prawl’s commitment is a significant recruiting win for first-year Lady Vols coach Kim Caldwell. The native of Toronto announced her commitment Monday on social media. “They were just so consistent, they made sure they checked off all the boxes for me… I feel like I heard from the coaching staff every day since (my official visit). They showed they truly cared about me as a person,” Prawl said on “SportsCenter Next” Instagram live.

Prawl joins an impressive 2025 recruiting class for Tennessee, which includes twin point guards Mia and Mya Pauldo. Mia, a five-star recruit ranked No. 11, and Mya, a four-star ranked No. 56, both play at Morris Catholic High School in New Jersey.

Prawl’s international experience includes playing for the Canadian youth national teams, most recently at the 2024 FIBA U17 World Cup. She was a significant contributor, with 13 points, seven rebounds, and three blocks in the gold medal game, where Canada lost to the United States 84-64.

This commitment underscores Coach Caldwell’s recruiting prowess and signals a promising future for the Lady Vols.
