The University of Kentucky Wildcats have embarked on a significant renovation of Rupp Arena, their iconic home court. The project aims to modernize the facility while preserving its historic essence.
The renovation includes re-cladding the façade with glass up to 40 feet high, creating a transparent exterior that offers expansive views of both Lexington and the court. A new concourse will encircle the stadium, allowing patrons to move around without missing any action.
The upgraded bowl will maintain its seating capacity of 23,500, featuring a new suite level and enhanced audiovisual systems. These renovations are part of a $310 million project designed to enhance the arena’s interaction with the urban landscape and solidify its status as a premier event destination in the Bluegrass Region.
