
Collingwood’s Head of High-Performance, Jarrod Wade, has provided an injury and health update ahead of the team’s Opening Round clash against the GWS Giants at ENGIE Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Available This Week:
Brayden Maynard: After experiencing soreness following the club’s match simulation on the Gold Coast, Maynard was managed for the practice match against Richmond. The defender has resumed full training this week and is available for the Opening Round.
Other Updates:
Joel Cochran: Suffered a knock to his ribs in training and has had a slight delay in his return due to illness over the weekend. Cochran will need to undergo a full week of training before returning to play, rendering him unavailable for this weekend’s VFL match.
Mason Cox: Progressing well in his recovery following a finger fracture. The ruckman has maintained his gym and running loads over the past two weeks and is close to a return to full training. He will need to meet certain benchmarks to be available for Round One.
Jordan De Goey: Will not be available for this week’s Opening Round clash against the GWS Giants. De Goey experienced a setback in pre-season (knee bruising) that required a de-load period. The midfielder has completed a three-week period of full team and contact training and is expected to be available in Rounds One or Two.
