News: Despite a challenging 2024 season, University of Florida Athletic Director Scott Stricklin announced that Billy Napier will continue as the head coach of the Florida Gators football team for the 2025 season. The Gators finished the 2024 season with a 7-5 record, culminating in a 33-8 victory over Tulane in the Gasparilla Bowl.
In the offseason, Coach Napier has made significant adjustments to his coaching staff. Notably, defensive backs coach Will Harris departed for a position with the Miami Hurricanes. To fill this vacancy, Napier promoted Deron Wilson, who previously served as an analyst for the Gators in 2022, to the role of defensive backs coach.
These developments highlight the program’s commitment to stability and strategic staff restructuring as they prepare for the upcoming season.
