Tragedy at Sea: Carnival Cruise Ship Capsizes in Atlantic, Over 400 Feared Dead.. more details……

A massive tragedy struck the Atlantic Ocean early Wednesday morning as a Carnival Cruise Line ship, the Carnival Radiance, capsized approximately 120 miles off the coast of Bermuda. Initial reports indicate that over 400 passengers and crew are feared dead, with hundreds more missing or critically injured.

The ship, carrying over 3,000 people on a 10-day Caribbean voyage, reportedly experienced a sudden list following what survivors described as a loud mechanical failure and chaotic structural shaking. Despite emergency distress signals, rough seas and poor visibility hampered early rescue efforts.

The U.S. Coast Guard, along with British Royal Navy vessels and nearby commercial ships, have launched a massive rescue operation. So far, around 900 people have been pulled from the water, many suffering from hypothermia and injuries sustained during the capsizing.

Carnival Cruise Line issued a statement expressing “deep sorrow” over the incident and confirmed a full investigation is underway in cooperation with maritime safety authorities. Families of the missing and survivors are being contacted, and support centers have been established.

This marks one of the deadliest maritime disasters in recent cruise history. Authorities warn the death toll may rise as recovery efforts continue through the night. The cause of the disaster remains under investigation.
