Trade Pitch: Rangers Dealing Artemi Panarin in 4-Player Offseason Blockbuster.. Read more..

A recent trade proposal suggests the New York Rangers could send star winger Artemi Panarin and forward Arthur Kaliyev, along with a 2025 fifth-round pick, to the Buffalo Sabres. In return, the Rangers would receive young forwards Jack Quinn and JJ Peterka, both 23, and Buffalo’s 2025 first-round draft pick. Notably, the Rangers would retain $5 million of Panarin’s salary to facilitate the deal.

However, Panarin’s full no-movement clause could impede such a trade, especially considering the Sabres’ prolonged playoff drought. Additionally, Quinn and Peterka are set to become restricted free agents on July 1, requiring the Rangers to negotiate new contracts if acquired.

This proposal underscores the Rangers’ potential strategy to reshape their roster following a disappointing season, aiming to build a team capable of future Stanley Cup contention.
