
Knoxville, Tennessee — In a groundbreaking announcement, ESPN has officially named the University of Tennessee’s Pride of the Southland Band the best marching band in the world. This historic recognition places the Tennessee Volunteers Marching Band at the pinnacle of international competition, outshining renowned ensembles from across the globe.
Known for their precision, energy, and iconic performances at Neyland Stadium, the band has long been a symbol of Volunteer spirit. From their famous “Circle Drill” to their stirring renditions of “Rocky Top,” the group continues to embody excellence both on and off the field.
The competition, judged by a panel of global music experts and sports entertainment analysts, evaluated bands on musicality, synchronization, creativity, and crowd impact. The Vols band stood out with its innovative shows, powerful sound, and deep-rooted tradition.
