Penn State Star Declares: “PENN STATE IS THE GREATEST COLLEGE TEAM EVER—I’ll Never Leave.. Read more..

As of March 21, 2025, there is no public record of a Penn State football player declaring, “PENN STATE IS THE GREATEST COLLEGE TEAM EVER—I’ll Never Leave.” In fact, recent events indicate that standout players have made different career choices.

For instance, Abdul Carter, a prominent defensive end/outside linebacker for the Nittany Lions, suffered a shoulder injury in December 2024 during the College Football Playoff quarterfinals against Boise State. This injury prevented him from participating in the NFL Scouting Combine. Despite this setback, Carter announced his decision to enter the 2025 NFL Draft, expressing gratitude to his family, teammates, and coaches, and stating his intent to make the Penn State community proud.

Historically, Penn State has been home to players who have expressed deep loyalty to the program. Notably, in 1948, team captain Steve Suhey is credited with inspiring the iconic cheer, “We Are Penn State,” by asserting the team’s unity and resolve against discrimination.

While individual players may express profound allegiance to Penn State, it is common for top athletes to pursue professional careers when opportunities arise. As of now, there is no verified statement from a current player declaring Penn State as the greatest college team ever and committing to remain indefinitely.
