Penn State star Abdul Carter made a bold statement ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft, declaring that he believes he is “the best player in the country” and should be the No. 1 overall pick. Speaking at the NFL Scouting Combine, Carter expressed confidence in his abilities, citing his strong collegiate career, which included a dominant 12-sack season in 2024. The 6-foot-3, 248-pound defender has drawn comparisons to former Penn State standout Micah Parsons and is considered one of the top defensive prospects in the draft.

Despite his confidence, Carter is recovering from a shoulder injury and did not participate in workouts at the combine. He is expected to showcase his skills at Penn State’s Pro Day on March 28.
