The Oklahoma Sooners’ 2025 softball season came to an end on Monday, but head coach Patty Gasso was full of pride as she reflected on a team that defied expectations and played with heart.

Despite falling short of another national championship, Gasso praised her players for their resilience, unity, and joy throughout the year. “This team brought something special every day,” Gasso said. “They embraced the challenge and leaned on each other in ways that define what it means to be a Sooner.”

The 2025 squad faced injuries, lineup changes, and stiff competition but still carved out a deep postseason run. Gasso emphasized that the journey mattered more than the destination: “It’s been a joyous ride, and I’m so proud of them.”

As Oklahoma now looks ahead to the future, Gasso remains confident in the program’s foundation—built on excellence, tradition, and joy in the game.
