NRL REPORT: A former Brisbane Broncos top star is finally set to make his much-anticipated return to the NRL in the 2025 season..

Former Brisbane Broncos star Ben Hunt is set to make a much-anticipated return to the NRL in the 2025 season. After departing the Broncos in 2017 to join the St. George Illawarra Dragons, Hunt amassed 147 games over seven seasons but experienced limited finals success. His return to Brisbane is driven by a desire to rectify unfinished business and lead the team to premiership success, especially after the poignant memory of the 2015 grand final loss to the Cowboys, where Hunt’s dropped extra-time kick-off paved the way for Johnathan Thurston’s match-winning field goal.

Hunt’s decision to sign a two-year deal with the Broncos starting in 2025 was influenced by a $5 million home he already owned in Brisbane from his first stint with the team. Originally bought in 2014, his Bridgeman Downs home, now valued at around $1.5 million, provided an additional lure to return to Brisbane.

Teaming up with Adam Reynolds, Hunt looks forward to playing alongside top-tier players, believing the new team dynamics and his experience can drive the Broncos to victory. Despite being part of the oldest halves pairing in the NRL, Hunt dismisses concerns about age, emphasizing their experience and calmness as pivotal to the team’s success.

Hunt’s return is expected to bolster the Broncos’ lineup, bringing experience and leadership to the squad. His reunion with the club has been met with enthusiasm from teammates and fans alike, as they anticipate his contributions to the team’s success in the upcoming season.
