Ajax is reportedly open to selling Brian Brobbey, a striker who has been a long-term target for Manchester United. The 22-year-old forward has attracted interest from several clubs, including West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur. West Ham is in discussions with Ajax about signing Brobbey on loan, with the possibility of a permanent transfer. Ajax, however, prefers a direct sale or a loan with an obligation to buy, aiming to balance their squad and finances. The reported asking price is between €30 million and €35 million.

Brobbey returned to Ajax in July 2022 for over €16 million after a stint at RB Leipzig. He has had a challenging season, scoring only one goal in 17 Eredivisie appearances. Despite his recent form, Ajax is determined to retain him unless their valuation is met. This stance has led to interest from other clubs, including AS Roma, which has reportedly initiated discussions with Brobbey’s representatives. However, Ajax’s €30 million asking price may be a barrier for Roma.

As Brobbey’s situation develops, Manchester United continues to monitor his progress, considering him a potential addition to their attacking options. The upcoming transfer window will likely see intensified negotiations as clubs assess their strategies to secure his services.
