News out of Richard Childress Racing this morning; Kyle Busch to retire from Cup Series racing after 2025. Will run Xfinity Series full time for 2026…. full details šŸ‘‡

In a stunning announcement this morning, Richard Childress Racing confirmed that Kyle Busch will retire from full-time NASCAR Cup Series competition following the conclusion of the 2025 season. The two-time Cup champion, who joined RCR in 2023, cited a desire to shift focus and embrace a new chapter in his racing career.

Busch, 40, plans to return to the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2026 as a full-time driver—a series where he holds the record for most wins (102). His new role will reportedly include mentoring younger drivers and helping develop talent within the Chevrolet pipeline.

“This decision wasn’t easy,” Busch said in a statement. “But after over two decades in the Cup Series, I feel it’s the right time to step away and focus on what’s next—for myself, my family, and the sport I love.”

Richard Childress praised Busch’s contributions, calling him ā€œa competitor like no other.ā€ Details on his Xfinity team and schedule are expected to be announced later this year.

Busch’s departure will mark the end of an era in the Cup Series but signals a new and exciting phase for one of NASCAR’s most polarizing and successful drivers.
