
In a stunning announcement this morning, Richard Childress Racing confirmed that Kyle Busch will retire from full-time NASCAR Cup Series competition following the conclusion of the 2025 season. The two-time Cup champion, who joined RCR in 2023, cited a desire to shift focus and embrace a new chapter in his racing career.
Busch, 40, plans to return to the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2026 as a full-time driverāa series where he holds the record for most wins (102). His new role will reportedly include mentoring younger drivers and helping develop talent within the Chevrolet pipeline.
“This decision wasnāt easy,” Busch said in a statement. “But after over two decades in the Cup Series, I feel itās the right time to step away and focus on whatās nextāfor myself, my family, and the sport I love.”
Richard Childress praised Buschās contributions, calling him āa competitor like no other.ā Details on his Xfinity team and schedule are expected to be announced later this year.
