The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) has honored several softball coaching staffs with national accolades for their exceptional performances in the 2024 season.

 

In NCAA Division I, the University of Oklahoma’s coaching staff, led by head coach Patty Gasso, was named the ATEC/NFCA National Coaching Staff of the Year. The Sooners clinched their fourth consecutive national championship, setting a new NCAA record with a 71-game winning streak. They concluded the season with a 59-1 record, showcasing dominance both offensively and defensively.

 

At the Division III level, East Texas Baptist University’s (ETBU) coaching staff, under head coach Janae Shirley, received the ATEC/NFCA National Coaching Staff of the Year award. The Tigers achieved a program-best 48 wins, securing the national championship and marking a 23-game winning streak during the season. They also captured the American Southwest Conference regular-season and tournament titles.

 

In the junior college ranks, McLennan Community College’s coaching staff was recognized as the ATEC/NFCA NJCAA Division I National Coaching Staff of the Year. The Highlanders finished as national runners-up with a 61-4 record, becoming the first program to reach 60 wins in a season. They led the nation in several offensive categories, including runs scored and total bases.

 

These awards underscore the dedication and excellence of softball coaching staffs across various collegiate levels, highlighting their significant contributions to their teams’ successes.
