NEWS NOW: Georgia amoore has officially announce living the Wildcats for the Oklahomas.. Reason why..

Georgia Amoore, a standout point guard from Virginia Tech, has announced her decision to transfer to the University of Kentucky, following her former coach, Kenny Brooks, who recently took over as head coach of the Wildcats.

Amoore’s tenure at Virginia Tech was marked by significant achievements. She played a pivotal role in leading the Hokies to their first-ever Final Four appearance in 2023 and secured the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) regular-season championship in 2024. During her senior year, she averaged 18.8 points and 6.8 assists per game, earning her third-team AP All-America honors. She concluded her Virginia Tech career as the school’s all-time leader in assists (656) and ranked second in three-pointers made (293) and third in total points (1,853).

The primary motivation behind Amoore’s transfer is her strong bond with Coach Kenny Brooks. Their relationship, which she describes as akin to that of family, was instrumental in her development both on and off the court. Reflecting on her time under Brooks, Amoore expressed deep gratitude, stating, “This is my second dad… We’ve been through some tough times. We’ve been through some great times. It’s a relationship that I’ll cherish for the rest of my life.”

By joining Kentucky, Amoore aims to continue her basketball journey under a coach she trusts deeply, hoping to replicate and build upon their previous successes at Virginia Tech. Her addition is anticipated to bring experience and leadership to the Wildcats as they embark on a new chapter under Coach Brooks’ guidance.
