NCAA OFFICIAL DECLARATION: After Coach Pope’s dire warning about Kentucky’s playoff fate, the Wildcats have been granted a highly anticipated SEC Tournament rematch with Alabama, seeking redemption after their historic blowout loss…see more details here ⤵️..

Despite Coach Mark Pope’s concerns about Kentucky’s postseason prospects, the Wildcats have not been granted an additional rematch with Alabama in the Southeastern Conference (SEC) Tournament.

On March 14, 2025, Alabama decisively defeated Kentucky 99-70 in the SEC Tournament quarterfinals, led by Labaron Philon’s 21 points. This victory advanced Alabama to the semifinals, where they are set to face fourth-ranked Florida.

Kentucky’s loss means their next opportunity for redemption against Alabama would only occur if both teams are matched up in the upcoming NCAA Tournament. The Wildcats are now focusing on preparing for the NCAA Tournament, aiming to recover from this setback and make a deep run in the postseason.
