In November 2024, Wallace was among three drivers penalized by NASCAR following the Martinsville race. He, along with Austin Dillon and Ross Chastain, was fined $100,000 and docked 50 driver points for violating NASCAR’s conduct policies, specifically sections related to actions detrimental to stock car racing and race manipulation. Additionally, their respective teams faced similar penalties, and key team members were suspended from the season finale at Phoenix Raceway .
In May 2024, a physical altercation occurred between Wallace and fellow driver Aric Almirola during a team meeting before the Xfinity Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Almirola was deemed the aggressor in the incident and was indefinitely suspended by Joe Gibbs Racing. The specific reasons behind the altercation were not disclosed .
Despite these incidents, Wallace has continued to compete in the NASCAR Cup Series. He remains a prominent figure in the sport, known for his competitive performances and advocacy for diversity and inclusion within NASCAR.
