In a dramatic and crash-filled 2025 Daytona 500, William Byron clinched his second consecutive victory, becoming the fifth driver in NASCAR history to achieve back-to-back wins in this prestigious event. The race, held at Daytona International Speedway, was marked by multiple incidents, including a significant crash on the final lap.

As Denny Hamlin and Austin Cindric vied for the lead, contact between them triggered a multi-car wreck on the backstretch. Byron, who was positioned ninth at the start of the two-lap overtime, skillfully navigated through the chaos to seize the lead and ultimately the win. Tyler Reddick finished second, with Jimmie Johnson, a two-time Daytona 500 champion, securing third place.

The race also featured a near four-hour rain delay and a spectacular crash involving Ryan Preece, whose car flipped mid-air after contact with Christopher Bell. Despite the harrowing incident, Preece was evaluated and released from the infield care center. Byron’s victory not only underscores his driving prowess but also marks the 10th Daytona 500 win for Hendrick Motorsports, setting a new record for the team.
