Kentucky head coach Mark Pope provided an encouraging update on senior guard Kerr Kriisa’s recovery from the injury that has sidelined him since December. Speaking to reporters, Pope revealed that Kriisa has taken a key step forward by participating in team warmups for the first time since the injury occurred.
While still a long way from full contact action, Kriisa is expected to begin “light full-court jogging” next week as he gradually increases his workload. If all goes according to plan, Pope anticipates that the veteran guard will be back to “full speed” on the court in approximately six weeks.
Kriisa, known for his playmaking and shooting ability, transferred to Kentucky this season and was expected to be a major contributor before his injury setback. His return could provide a significant boost to the Wildcats as they look ahead to the latter part of the season.
Although no official return date has been set, Pope’s latest update suggests that Kriisa is progressing well in his rehab. The Wildcats will continue to monitor his recovery in hopes of having him fully reintegrated into the lineup down the stretch.
