Legend’s NSW Verdict: Final Call on Brutal Three-Way Halves Race… and Who Misses Out on NSW Blues Origin.. Read more via link👇

As State of Origin selection looms, rugby league legend Andrew Johns has weighed in on the fiercely debated three-way race for the NSW Blues halves pairing — and his final verdict is sure to spark conversation across the league. With Nicho Hynes, Mitchell Moses, and Jarome Luai all battling for just two coveted spots, Johns has delivered a bold call on who should lead the Blues attack — and who will be the unlucky omission.

Speaking on NRL 360, Johns backed Moses and Luai as his preferred combination, citing Moses’ game management and Luai’s Origin experience as key assets. “They complement each other well — you need balance, not just flash,” Johns explained.

That leaves Nicho Hynes, the reigning Dally M Medalist, as the shock exclusion. While Hynes has had a stellar season, questions remain about his ability to command the Origin stage under pressure.

Fans are split, with some calling Hynes’ omission “unjustified” while others praise Johns’ loyalty to proven performers.

With selection day just around the corner, the Blues’ final decision is set to ignite even more debate as New South Wales chases redemption in the 2025 Origin series.
