
As of March 26, 2025, there is credible information indicating that Igor Shesterkin has rejected a contract offer from the New York Rangers to sign with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
In fact, Shesterkin signed an eight-year, $92 million extension with the Rangers on December 6, 2024, making him the highest-paid goaltender in NHL history at that time.
Earlier, in October 2024, he declined an eight-year, $88 million extension offer from the Rangers, reportedly seeking a higher annual salary. Currently, Shesterkin remains under contract with the New York Rangers.
