Daimion Collins, a 6-foot-9 forward, began his collegiate basketball career at the University of Kentucky, where he played for two seasons (2021–2023). During his time with the Wildcats, Collins appeared in 52 games, averaging 7.7 minutes per game and contributing defensively with 20 blocks in his freshman year.

In April 2023, Collins transferred to Louisiana State University (LSU) to be closer to his family following the sudden passing of his father in November 2022. His transition to LSU was met with challenges, including a dislocated shoulder early in the 2023–2024 season, which limited his play to six games. After recovering, Collins returned to full basketball activities in September 2024 and has since become a significant contributor for the Tigers.

On March 4, 2025, Collins made his return to Rupp Arena as a starter for LSU against his former team, Kentucky. The Wildcats secured a dominant 95-64 victory, marking their largest SEC win of the season. Despite the loss, Collins’ return was a poignant moment, reflecting his resilience and growth both on and off the court.
