JUST IN:Luka Doncic Injury Update: Mavericks Star Re-Evaluated for Left Calf Strain..read more

Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic continues to recover from a left calf strain that has kept him sidelined since Christmas Day. The five-time All-Star was initially given a one-month re-evaluation timeline, and recent reports suggest he is targeting a return before the NBA All-Star break in mid-February.

Doncic, who was averaging 28.1 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 7.8 assists per game before the injury, has been sorely missed by the Mavericks. Since his absence, the team has struggled, going 4-10 and falling out of the top six in the Western Conference standings. With Kyrie Irving also dealing with injuries and center Dereck Lively II suffering a foot fracture, the Mavericks are facing a tough stretch without their key players.

Although Doncic is making progress, the team is being cautious with his return to prevent further setbacks. The next evaluation will be crucial in determining whether he can return before the All-Star break or if he will need more recovery time.
