NASCAR is taking its appreciation for the fans to the next level by introducing a groundbreaking awards program designed to honor the heart and soul of the sport: its dedicated supporters. In an announcement made today, the governing body revealed a series of prestigious awards that will recognize fans for their enthusiasm, loyalty, and unique contributions to the NASCAR community.
The new initiative, called the “Fan Appreciation Awards,” will spotlight fans who go above and beyond to represent the NASCAR spirit. Categories include “Fan of the Year,” “Best Race Day Spirit,” “Outstanding Social Media Engagement,” and “Community Supporter of the Year.” These awards will be based on fan nominations, as well as input from NASCAR drivers, teams, and officials.
“We wouldn’t be where we are without our fans, and this is our way of saying thank you for their continuous passion,” said NASCAR President Steve Phelps. “From tailgates to social media, to their endless support at the track, fans have been a critical part of NASCAR’s success. This is the least we can do to recognize their unwavering commitment.”
The inaugural awards ceremony will take place at the end of the season, with winners receiving a range of prizes, including VIP race tickets, exclusive merchandise, and the chance to meet their favorite drivers.
This exciting new initiative is expected to boost fan engagement and deepen the bond between NASCAR and its dedicated base. Fans can begin submitting nominations through NASCAR’s official website starting next month.
