Denny Hamlin, veteran NASCAR driver, didn’t hold back when addressing the controversy surrounding last night’s race. In a post-race interview, Hamlin called out the “unnecessary drama” that unfolded on the track, criticizing both the aggressive driving and questionable tactics that overshadowed the on-track competition.
“The racing was intense, but there were moments where it went beyond racing and became more about who could push the limits of fairness,” Hamlin said. “It’s frustrating to see good racing turn into something that feels more like a spectacle than a sport.”
The race saw several altercations between drivers, with a few incidents prompting heated exchanges in the pits. Hamlin, who had been caught up in some of the action, voiced his concern about the direction the sport could be heading if these types of confrontations continue to take center stage.
“I’m all for hard racing, but we need to keep the integrity of the sport intact. This isn’t WWE,” Hamlin added. “I’m here to race, not to deal with drama.”
