Bubba Wallace has confirmed his continued presence in NASCAR, signing a multi-year contract extension with 23XI Racing, the team co-owned by Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin. This announcement follows a period of uncertainty regarding the team’s charter status for the 2025 season.

 

Wallace had previously indicated that without a chartered car, he would consider exploring opportunities with other teams. The team’s recent legal victory, securing a preliminary injunction to compete as a chartered team, addressed these concerns, ensuring Wallace’s place with 23XI Racing for the foreseeable future .

 

 

Wallace joined 23XI Racing in 2021, marking a significant milestone as NASCAR’s only full-time Black driver at the time. His tenure has been marked by advocacy for racial equality, including his role in prompting NASCAR to ban the Confederate flag from its events. Despite facing challenges, including a penalty for race manipulation in 2024, Wallace remains a central figure in the sport’s evolving landscape .
