His commitment bolsters Tennessee’s 2025 recruiting class, joining fellow four-star recruit DeWayne Brown II. Evans cited his relationship with Tennessee assistant coach Rod Clark as a significant factor in his decision, stating that Clark provided him with the tools necessary to play as a freshman. He also expressed admiration for head coach Rick Barnes’ coaching style, particularly his development of players like Dalton Knecht.

This commitment marks a significant addition for Tennessee, as Evans’ defensive skills and shooting ability are expected to make an immediate impact on the team.
