FORT WORTH, Texas — Joey Logano emerged victorious in a dramatic overtime finish at the Texas Motor Speedway, capturing the checkered flag in Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series race. The Team Penske driver showcased veteran composure and precise timing to edge out his competitors in a thrilling final restart that capped off the Texas 300.
Logano, who hadn’t raced in the Xfinity Series in several months, returned with authority, leading 62 laps and fending off a fierce challenge from rising star Chandler Smith and series regular Justin Allgaier in the final laps. The overtime restart was triggered after a late-race incident involving multiple cars in Turn 2, bunching up the field and setting the stage for a white-knuckle finish.
“It’s always exciting when you can come back to this series and race hard with these young guys,” Logano said in Victory Lane. “We had a fast car all day, and the team made the right calls when it counted. I knew if we could get the lead off that last restart, we’d have a shot.”
The win marks Logano’s 31st career Xfinity Series victory and his first at Texas since 2014. It also continues his streak of success across NASCAR’s top series, reminding fans and fellow drivers alike of his versatility and competitive edge.
The race featured ten lead changes and six cautions, keeping fans on the edge of their seats. Smith finished second, followed by Allgaier, Austin Hill, and Cole Custer rounding out the top five.
With the playoffs looming, the Texas 300 provided crucial momentum and thrilling action as the Xfinity Series ramps up its intensity. For Joey Logano, it was another checkered flag in a career filled with memorable wins — and a timely reminder that he’s always a threat when he’s on the track.
