Netflix has announced the upcoming release of a compelling new sports documentary chronicling the rich legacy of the University of Kentucky Wildcats men’s basketball team. Titled “Blue Blood: The Kentucky Wildcats Story,” the documentary is set to premiere in Fall 2025 and promises an in-depth look at one of college basketball’s most storied programs.
The series will feature never-before-seen footage, exclusive interviews with legendary coaches like John Calipari and Joe B. Hall, and commentary from iconic players including Anthony Davis, Jamal Mashburn, and De’Aaron Fox. From Adolph Rupp’s dominance to the Wildcats’ eight national championships, the documentary will explore the program’s highs, controversies, and enduring influence on college hoops.
Produced in partnership with ESPN Films, the multi-part series aims to capture the passion of Big Blue Nation and the program’s pivotal moments on and off the court. Netflix says the documentary will highlight not just basketball triumphs, but also the cultural and social impact the Wildcats have had on the state of Kentucky and beyond.
Fans of sports documentaries and NCAA basketball are already buzzing with anticipation, calling it a potential must-watch alongside classics like The Last Dance and Undefeated.
