HOW COULD THIS BE TRUE ?: Los Angeles Dodgers, Miguel Rojas neаring 5-yeаr, $200M extension concerning….

The reported figures of a five-year, $200 million contract extension for Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Miguel Rojas are not accurate. As of March 2025, Rojas is under contract with the Dodgers through the 2024 season, with a $5 million salary for that year and a $5 million club option for 2025, which includes a $1 million buyout. He was acquired from the Miami Marlins in January 2023 in exchange for infield prospect Jacob Amaya.

In a November 2024 interview, Rojas expressed his intention to play two more seasons (2025 and 2026) and retire after the 2026 season, ideally concluding his career with the Dodgers. Given his plans to retire in 2026, a five-year contract extension at this stage would be unexpected.

Therefore, the notion of Rojas nearing a five-year, $200 million extension appears to be a misunderstanding or misinformation.
