
Jocelyn Alo, the NCAA’s all-time leader in career home runs, has been appointed as the new hitting coach and recruiting coordinator for the University of Oklahoma softball team. This announcement marks a significant milestone in her post-collegiate career, following her illustrious tenure with the Sooners.
Alo’s playing career at Oklahoma was nothing short of historic. She set the NCAA Division I record with 122 career home runs and amassed 323 RBIs, ranking second in NCAA history. Her achievements include leading the Sooners to two consecutive national championships and earning the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year award in her final two seasons. Additionally, she was a four-time NFCA All-American and the Most Outstanding Player at the 2022 NCAA Womenโs College World Series .
After concluding her college career, Alo continued to make an impact in professional softball. She joined the Athletes Unlimited Pro Softball league, participating in the AUX event in Wichita, Kansas, as a member of the Oklahoma City Spark. In her final game of the 2024 season, she was named Spark Home Run Queen, defeating teammate Tiare Jennings for the title .
In her new role at Oklahoma, Alo will be instrumental in shaping the future of the program. Her extensive experience and success at the collegiate and professional levels provide her with a unique perspective to mentor the next generation of Sooners. As the hitting coach, she will focus on developing the team’s offensive strategies, while as the recruiting coordinator, she will work to attract top talent to the program.
