CONCORD, N.C. โ Hendrick Motorsports announced today that it has signed NASCAR Cup Series driver William Byron to a contract extension that will keep him behind the wheel of the No. 24 Chevrolet Camaro through the 2029 season.

The multi-year deal solidifies Byron’s long-term future with the team that has guided his growth from a promising rookie to a consistent championship contender. Since joining Hendrick Motorsports in 2018, Byron has amassed multiple race wins and playoff appearances, quickly becoming one of the sport’s rising stars.
Team owner Rick Hendrick praised Byronโs development and commitment, saying, โWilliam has grown tremendously both on and off the track. His work ethic, performance, and consistency have made him an integral part of our organizationโs future. Weโre thrilled to continue this journey with him.โ
Byron, 26, is currently enjoying a strong 2025 season and is widely regarded as one of NASCAR’s top young talents. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to continue driving for one of the sportโs most prestigious teams.

The extension also provides stability for the No. 24 team, which includes crew chief Rudy Fugle, Byronโs longtime collaborator dating back to their successful pairing in the NASCAR Truck Series.
With the new agreement, Hendrick Motorsports continues to lock in its core driver lineup, reinforcing its commitment to long-term competitiveness at the highest level of stock car racing.
