Otega Oweh, a standout guard for the Kentucky Wildcats, has made a historic contribution to the university’s basketball program by donating $3 million. This generous gift is aimed at bolstering the team’s resources as they pursue an SEC Championship.
Oweh transferred to Kentucky from Oklahoma for the 2024-25 season and has been instrumental in the Wildcats’ success. Averaging 16.2 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.5 steals per game, he earned Second-Team All-SEC honors and was named to the Oscar Robertson Trophy midseason watch list. His clutch performances, including a 28-point game against his former team, Oklahoma, have solidified his reputation as a key player.
Oweh’s donation is one of the largest ever made by a current student-athlete to their university’s athletic program.
