Former New York Rangers forward Mats Zuccarello paid tribute to legendary broadcaster Sam Rosen by donning a custom No. 40 “Rosen” jersey during pregame warmups at Madison Square Garden. Zuccarello, now playing for the Minnesota Wild, honored Rosen as he concludes his 40th and final season as the Rangers’ television play-by-play announcer.
Throughout the season, Rosen has been celebrated for his remarkable four-decade tenure with the Rangers. In late March, the team held a formal pregame ceremony where former colleagues Phil Esposito and John Davidson presented him with a golden microphone.
As part of his farewell tour, Rosen is set to reunite with John Davidson for a special NHL on TNT broadcast during the Rangers-Flyers game on April 9, marking a nostalgic moment for fans.
Rosen’s contributions have left an indelible mark on the Rangers community, making these tributes a testament to his enduring legacy.
