Collin Chandler, a highly touted 6-foot-4 guard from Farmington, Utah, has committed to the University of Kentucky men’s basketball program under new head coach Mark Pope. Chandler, who was ranked among the top 35 recruits in the 2022 class, initially committed to Brigham Young University (BYU) but deferred his enrollment to undertake a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

 

Following Coach Pope’s transition from BYU to Kentucky, Chandler chose to follow his former coach to Lexington. He expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “I am humbled to get the opportunity to continue this journey at the University of Kentucky! Go Wildcats!”

 

During his high school career at Farmington High School, Chandler amassed 1,587 points and 135 three-pointers, averaging 21.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game in his senior year. His performance earned him the Utah Gatorade Player of the Year award in 2022.

 

Chandler is known for his silky-smooth jumper, explosive burst, and high basketball IQ. Coach Pope lauded his abilities, stating, “He has a silky-smooth jumper, a slippery ability to get to the rim, an explosive burst and the most impressive of all, he has incredible processing speed as he reads space and time and makes plays on pure instinct.”
