ESPN REPORT: Michigan Wolverines Football tight ends coach who also serves as special team coordinator Steve Casula has turned down a jaw-dropping $34 million offer from the Ohio State University Football , In a brief statement released by Michigan Athletics, Casula said…

In a brief but pointed statement released by Michigan Athletics, Casula reaffirmed his commitment to the Wolverines, stating:

“Michigan isn’t just a job — it’s a calling. The culture, the players, the mission — it’s all bigger than me. I’m honored every day to wear the maize and blue, and no amount of money can replace the pride I feel coaching here. The rivalry is real, and I respect Ohio State’s tradition, but my heart belongs in Ann Arbor. Our work isn’t done, and I’m excited for what’s ahead.”

Casula’s decision comes amid rising tensions in the historic Michigan–Ohio State rivalry and follows a dominant season by the Wolverines under new leadership. The $34 million offer, which would have made Casula one of the highest-paid assistant coaches in college football history, underscores how highly sought-after he is across the country.

Sources say Michigan is finalizing a contract extension to retain Casula long-term, signaling a strong vote of confidence in his role within the program’s future.
