Ella Parker, a standout pitcher for the Oklahoma Sooners softball team, has reportedly agreed to a two-year, $41.2 million contract extension, making her the highest-paid pitcher in the program’s history. This significant investment underscores the university’s commitment to maintaining its competitive edge in collegiate softball.
Parker’s performance has been nothing short of exceptional. In February 2025, she was honored as the Southeastern Conference (SEC) Softball Co-Player of the Week, marking the first time an Oklahoma player received this accolade. During a six-game stretch in California, she achieved a .591 batting average, with 13 hits in 22 at-bats, 10 runs scored, five doubles, a home run, eight RBIs, and three stolen bases. Her versatility was on display as she started in both corner outfield positions and as a designated player, maintaining a flawless fielding record.
Parker continued her stellar play into the Getterman Classic, where she was again named Co-SEC Softball Player of the Week. She posted a .750 batting average over four games, including two home runs against Hofstra, and maintained a 10-game hitting streak. At that time, she led the SEC in batting average (.647), hits (22), and doubles (7).
This contract extension not only reflects Parker’s individual achievements but also signals Oklahoma’s dedication to supporting top-tier talent. With Parker’s continued contributions, the Sooners are well-positioned to pursue further national championships in the coming seasons.
