Otega Oweh, a standout guard for the University of Kentucky Wildcats, has achieved a remarkable milestone by earning both the 2025 Bob Cousy Award and the Oscar Robertson Trophy Midseason Award, underscoring his exceptional impact on college basketball this season.
The Bob Cousy Award, presented annually by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, honors the nation’s top collegiate point guard, recognizing leadership, vision, and exemplary play. Oweh’s dynamic performances, characterized by his playmaking abilities and court vision, have rightfully earned him this prestigious accolade.
In addition, Oweh’s stellar season has been acknowledged with the Oscar Robertson Trophy Midseason Award, presented by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association to the nation’s best player at the season’s midpoint. This award reflects his consistent excellence, leadership, and significant contributions to the Wildcats’ success.
Oweh’s statistics this season are impressive, averaging 15.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.6 steals per game, with a field goal percentage of 49.4%. His ability to impact the game on both ends of the court has been a driving force behind Kentucky’s strong performance, including six victories against top-15 opponents.
