CONFIRMED: Maple Leafs Legend Frank Mahovlich Inducted into Maple Leafs Hall of Fame 2025….

Toronto – In a historic and emotional moment for the hockey world, the Toronto Maple Leafs have officially inducted legendary left winger Frank Mahovlich into the Maple Leafs Hall of Fame in 2025. The announcement was made during a special pre-game ceremony at Scotiabank Arena, with fans, former teammates, and family members in attendance to celebrate one of the greatest players in franchise history.

Frank Mahovlich, affectionately known as “The Big M,” was a towering presence on the ice throughout his storied career. With his graceful skating, powerful shot, and calm demeanor, Mahovlich became a cornerstone of the Maple Leafs’ dynasty during the 1960s. He helped lead the team to four Stanley Cup championships in 1962, 1963, 1964, and 1967, the last of which remains the Leafs’ most recent title.

Over his 12 seasons with the Maple Leafs, Mahovlich recorded 296 goals and 301 assists in 720 games. He was a seven-time All-Star and the 1958 Calder Trophy winner as the NHL’s top rookie. His legacy is not only defined by his stats but by the elegance and consistency he brought to every game. The Leafs’ fan base embraced Mahovlich as a true superstar and a symbol of hope during one of the team’s most successful eras.

Team President Brendan Shanahan spoke at the ceremony, calling Mahovlich “a player who embodied what it meant to wear the blue and white.” Shanahan went on to say, “Frank inspired generations of Leafs fans and players. It’s long overdue that we honor his incredible legacy within our organization’s hall of fame.”

The induction comes at a particularly meaningful time, as Mahovlich, now 87, made a rare public appearance to accept the honor in person. With visible emotion, he thanked the organization, his teammates, and the fans for their unwavering support over the decades. “Toronto has always been my hockey home,” he said. “To be recognized by the team I gave so much to—it means the world.”

This latest honor adds to an already illustrious list of accolades for Mahovlich. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1981 and was appointed to the Senate of Canada in 1998, where he served until 2013. His induction into the Maple Leafs Hall of Fame brings his relationship with the franchise full circle.

The Maple Leafs’ decision to celebrate Frank Mahovlich in 2025 is not only a nod to the past, but a reminder of the greatness that shaped the team’s legacy. As current Leafs continue to chase championship glory, they now do so under the watchful eye of one of the all-time greats whose name will forever be etched into Toronto hockey history.
