credible information confirming that Joe Paterno has accepted an $88 million contract to return as head coach at Penn State. Joe Paterno, who served as Penn State’s head football coach for 46 years, was dismissed in 2011 amid the Jerry Sandusky scandal and passed away in January 2012 at the age of 85.

 

Following his death, Penn State settled his employment contract by providing his estate with over $5.5 million in payments and benefits. In 2015, the NCAA restored 112 wins to Penn State’s football record, reinstating Paterno as the winningest coach in major college football history.
