Recent reports indicate that former Collingwood coach Nathan Buckley has declined a substantial $5.7 million offer. However, specific details regarding the source or nature of this offer are currently unavailable. This development comes in the context of Buckley’s recent personal and financial decisions following his divorce from ex-wife Tania.

In April 2024, Buckley was compelled to auction over 200 pieces of his AFL memorabilia as part of the divorce settlement. While he managed to reacquire his Brownlow and Norm Smith medals, other significant items, including grand final jerseys, were sold. The collection was anticipated to fetch up to $200,000. Additionally, the couple’s Toorak mansion, purchased for $4 million in 2007, was listed for sale at approximately $18 million.

More recently, in February 2025, Tania Buckley finalized the sale of the Toorak property, securing a $10 million profit.

Despite these personal challenges, Buckley has remained active professionally. Notably, he extended his coaching contract with Collingwood in 2017, even though the team had not reached the AFL finals that year. Currently, he serves as an Amazon Associate in the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area.

While the specifics of the recent $5.7 million offer remain undisclosed, Buckley’s decision to decline it underscores his ongoing commitment to his current professional endeavors and personal priorities.
