Collingwood Football Club’s AFLW team has been dealt a significant blow with the announcement that captain Brianna Davey will miss the rest of the 2024 NAB AFLW season. Davey sustained an injury to her left tibia, leading to this unfortunate development.

In response to this setback, the team has made strategic moves to bolster their lineup. During the 2024 AFLW Telstra Draft, Collingwood secured three promising talents, including Ash Centra as their first pick. Centra’s selection is part of the club’s efforts to reinforce their squad amidst the challenges posed by Davey’s absence.

The team is also preparing for an upcoming twilight clash against the Adelaide Crows at Victoria Park. The match is set to feature the return of three key players, aiming to strengthen the team’s performance in Davey’s absence.

Despite the setback, Collingwood remains focused on their season objectives, relying on both experienced players and new draftees to step up and fill the leadership void left by Davey.
