Despite these struggles, Canales has publicly supported Evero’s 3-4 defensive scheme, stating, “I love this scheme, I know what it looks like when it’s done well.” 
Offensively, the team has faced challenges with quarterback Bryce Young, the 2023 No. 1 overall pick. After a 2-16 record as a starter, Young was benched in favor of veteran Andy Dalton. This decision has raised concerns about Young’s future with the franchise.
Despite these setbacks, Canales remains optimistic about the team’s direction. He emphasizes the importance of stability and development as the Panthers aim to rebuild and improve in the upcoming season.
