LOS ANGELES – In a move set to revolutionize the landscape of college basketball, the University of Southern California has announced a groundbreaking $1.3 billion renovation of the iconic Galen Center. The massive upgrade aims to transform the arena into a world-class sports and entertainment complex, blending cutting-edge technology with Trojan tradition.

The renovation includes expanded seating to accommodate 18,000 fans, luxury suites, state-of-the-art locker rooms, immersive fan experiences, and a retractable roof for multipurpose use. A key highlight is the integration of augmented reality features and interactive digital elements throughout the venue, offering fans an unprecedented viewing experience.

USC Athletic Director Jennifer Cohen hailed the project as a “bold investment in our student-athletes, fans, and the future of college athletics.” Construction is set to begin in early 2026, with completion expected by the 2028 season.

This transformative project not only positions USC as a premier destination for top-tier basketball talent but also cements the Galen Center as a central hub for sports, entertainment, and innovation in Los Angeles.
