In a significant recruiting shakeup, four-star defensive lineman Kellen Lindstrom has officially decommitted from the University of Tennessee. The Missouri native announced his decision via social media, thanking the Volunteers’ coaching staff while stating that he plans to re-evaluate his options going forward.
Lindstrom, a 6-foot-5, 245-pound standout from Glendale High School, had committed to Tennessee in late 2024 but remained in contact with several programs — including the University of Washington. The Huskies, under new head coach Jedd Fisch, have made a strong push for top defensive talent in the 2025 class, and Lindstrom has long been on their radar.
Ranked as a top-300 national recruit and among the top 30 defensive linemen in the country, Lindstrom brings versatility, length, and explosiveness off the edge. Washington’s defensive scheme and recent success in developing NFL-caliber linemen could give them a real shot at landing him.
With his recruitment now back open, programs like Washington, Missouri, and Oklahoma are expected to make a strong play. The Huskies, needing to bolster their defensive front, may now have a golden opportunity to capitalize on Lindstrom’s fresh start.
Will UW close the deal this time around?
