In a rare moment of unity between rivals, the Toronto Maple Leafs and Ottawa Senators came together to celebrate star forward Mitchell Marner after his wife surprised everyone with a heartwarming—and hilarious—announcement. Following a joint charity skate, Marner’s wife revealed she’s 12 weeks pregnant with twins, and did so with a playful message that had both teams bursting with laughter.
She held up a custom sign that read: “Twins on the way… and Mitch still panics changing a light bulb, let alone a diaper!” The locker room erupted as players from both sides teased Marner, clapping and shouting their congratulations. Even the Senators couldn’t help but laugh and show their support.
Marner, known for his energy and quick wit, took it all in stride. “Guess I’m getting called up to the parenting league,” he joked, earning even more cheers from teammates.
The celebration reminded everyone that beyond the fierce rivalry, the hockey world is a close-knit family. With double the joy (and double the diapers) on the horizon, Marner is stepping into a brand-new role—one shift at a time, both on and off the ice.
