In a historic tribute to one of the most iconic figures in college football, the University of Tennessee has announced plans to erect a statue of Peyton Manning outside Neyland Stadium, according to an ESPN report. The monument will honor Manning’s extraordinary legacy, both as a Volunteer and as a transformative figure in the world of football.
Manning, who played for Tennessee from 1994 to 1997, led the Volunteers to an SEC Championship and was a Heisman Trophy finalist. Beyond his college achievements, he went on to have a legendary NFL career, winning two Super Bowls and earning a place in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
University officials say the statue will serve as a lasting reminder of Manning’s leadership, excellence, and commitment to the Volunteer spirit. “Peyton embodies everything Tennessee stands for,” said Athletic Director Danny White. “His impact on our program and on the sport is immeasurable.”
The statue is set to be unveiled before the 2025 season, with a public ceremony expected to draw thousands of fans and former teammates. For Vol Nation, it’s a well-deserved tribute to a true Tennessee legend whose greatness transcends generations.
